It describes a cultural concept of treasuring the unrepeatable magic of a moment.
It encourages us to embody the philosophy that every moment spent in an encounter should be highly treasured, because it will never occur again.
The phrase ichi-go ichi-e originated during Japanese tea ceremonies for Samurai, the night before a big battle. Not knowing if they would ever get the opportunity to enjoy another cup, an emphasis was placed on appreciating their entire experience from start to finish.
